The Gouda Cheese Experience is a multi-sensory experience centre where spatial storytelling, interactive moments, and material expression come together to connect cultural heritage with contemporary experience design.
Heijmerink Wagemakers was commissioned by the Cheese Experience Gouda Foundation to engineer and realise the complete experience as designed by DST. The experience takes visitors through the entire story of Gouda cheese; from the cows and milk to the production of the finished cheese.
My role in the project was as exhibition engineer and project managemer. The large number of interactive exhibits made the project particularly interesting, requiring creative problem-solving to translate the design into robust, buildable solutions while maintaining a fun and engaging visitor experience.
